Dana Kravetz has been named a Leader of Influence by the Los Angeles Business Journal. In its listing of top labor & employment attorneys, the LABJ has featured Dana as one of the very best—among the upper echelon of employment lawyers in Los Angeles, representing many of the most innovative and admired companies in the region. All of us at M&R congratulate Dana on the recognition and for being—as the LABJ puts it—an attorney  “you want in your corner.”

M&R is excited to announce the opening of our newly expanded office space in Houston. We’ve taken over the 31st floor at 717 Texas, a 33-story, 697,541-square-foot office tower nestled in Houston’s vibrant northern Downtown, just steps away from the Theater District and the historic Market Square Park. Our much larger footprint—which spans 17 offices, conference rooms, a café and open workspaces—will accommodate M&R Houston’s measured growth going forward, all under the watchful eye of our Office Managing Partner there, Lauren Varnado. The expanded office will also continue to serve as the national hub for M&R’s energy-related practice, including our sought-after oil and gas litigation work.Firm leadership—Sanford Michelman, Dana Kravetz and Lauren Varnado—sees the expansion as a demonstration of our commitment to the market and recruitment in Houston, specifically, and throughout the Southwest more broadly. To those in Houston, we extend this open invitation to visit our new digs.

Congratulations, M&R NYC, which has been named a 2023 Best Place to Work by Crain’s New York Business. Better yet, out of the top 100 firms included in Crain’s listing, M&R ranked number six overall! This is repeat recognition for our NYC office, which joins M&R L.A. and OC in terms of BPTW honors.

Of all the accolades we earn during any given year, this one is especially sweet as it speaks to the firm’s commitment to—and value of—its people, from the most senior attorneys to our support staff. We have said time and again that at M&R, employees find fulfillment not just from their work, but from their workplace as well. Being a top six place to work in NYC certainly bears that out.

To our NY team and the entire firm, we could not be prouder.

Mona Hanna and Kelly Hagemann have been featured by the Orange County Business Journal in its Leaders of Influence: Women in Law edition. Congratulations to them both and to our entire team of extraordinary women attorneys in Orange County!

Our L.A. office has once again been named a Best Place to Work by the Los Angeles Business Journal. We thank the LABJ and celebrate everyone at M&R L.A. who together make us a firm where professional fulfillment comes not just from the work, but from the workplace as well.

Congratulations to Sanford Michelman and Dana Kravetz on being named 2023 Legal Visionaries by the Los Angeles Times.  See the full list of recognized Visionaries below.

Congratulations to Sanford Michelman and Dana Kravetz, two of the city’s Top 100 Lawyers as designated by the Los Angeles Business Journal. We join the LABJ in celebrating the extraordinary work, leadership and records of success that Sanford and Dana bring to M&R and our clients across industries.

Here’s to Lara Shortz, who the Los Angeles Business Journal has recognized yet again as one of the most influential women attorneys in the city.

We congratulate Michael Poster on his repeat recognition from Billboard. His work handling catalog acquisitions and music financing transactions continues to amaze, and on the heels of a banner year in 2022, Mike’s prolific deal flow continues into 2023. Bravo, Mike, on your status as a top music lawyer!

M&R has opened its doors to beautiful new offices in New York. Located at 605 Third, between 39th and 40th Streets, the expansive space—nearly 20,000 square feet on the 30th floor—will serve as the East Coast hub for our litigation and corporate practice groups. It will also provide us much needed room to grow.

The building, which is central to the midtown and midtown-south business districts and within walking distance to Grand Central Station, has all kinds of amenities. These include an on-site, full-service meeting space called @Ease 605, where we will be hosting client- and industry-focused events in the months and years to come.

Raising our profile in NYC and further developing our roster of clients there is a huge priority for the firm. Planting our flag at 605 Third will go a long way in helping us reach that goal.
