Today is a special day for M&R in Dallas. The firm has taken up occupancy in new office space on the 17th floor of the Crescent business complex, a landmark in Dallas’ Uptown.

The move demonstrates our commitment to the market in Dallas and throughout the Southwest, and we anticipate big things in the Big D going forward. For those unfamiliar with the area, the Crescent is centrally located and, as the name suggests, features iconic half-moon windows that anchor the space.

Not only is the move a boon for our Dallas team—Ashley Moore, Matt Yarbrough, Jason Blackstone and Richard Kim—it also bodes well for M&R’s planned growth in the city. The new offices are as beautiful as they are functional and should give us a leg up in attracting top legal talent to the firm.

Of course, our new home at the Crescent is also a wonderful space to host clients. That said, if you find yourself in Dallas, we welcome your visit.

Congratulations, Howard Camhi, Jeff Farrow, Mona Hanna, Dana Kravetz, Sanford Michelman, Mark Robinson and Todd Stitt, all of whom put the “Super” in Super Lawyers. Recognition by Super Lawyers Magazine of these M&R powerhouses is truly well deserved!

Dana Kravetz has been honored by the Daily Journal, which named him a Top Labor & Employment Lawyer for 2022. The publication recognized Dana’s extraordinary work as an employment attorney and his accomplishments and record of success representing some of the most innovative and admired companies in L.A. and beyond. Congratulations, Dana, on an award that’s so well deserved.

Sanford Michelman has been included in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s LA500, which lists and celebrates the most influential leaders and executives in the City of Angels. Congratulations, Sanford, on being recognized once more for the extraordinary impact you continue to have in L.A. and beyond.

M&R L.A. joins OC and NYC as being named a “Best Place to Work.” The Los Angeles Business Journal just bestowed this moniker on the L.A. office, a reflection of the firm’s commitment to and value of its people, from the most senior attorneys to support staff.

It bears repeating—at M&R, employees find fulfillment not just from their work, but from their workplace as well. This most recent recognition by the LABJ demonstrates that that is certainly the case in our L.A. headquarters.
Congratulations to our L.A. team and the entire firm.

Vault has recognized M&R in its 2023 rankings, which are among the most trusted resources for lawyers and law students looking for the best law firms to practice their craft. For 2023, Vault has shined a particular light on M&R, listing it among the top 20 midsize law firms for attorney satisfaction, training, wellness, hours, compensation and culture—this out of the thousands of similarly sized law firms. Congratulations and thank you to each and every one of our lawyers and staff members who have helped M&R rise to the top.

Mona Hanna—M&R’s Orange County Firm Managing Partner and National Complex & Class Action Trial Chair—has been included in the Orange County Business Journal‘s Leaders of Influence, Women in Law edition, solidifying her status as one of the premier litigators in the country yet again.

The Los Angeles Business Journal continues to honor Sanford Michelman, most recently by naming him a “Top 100 Lawyer” for 2022. This comes on the heels of Sanford being designated as the LABJ’s “Litigation Attorney of the Year” in 2021 and his inclusion in the publication’s exclusive LA500, a list of the most influential people in the City of Angels.

All of us at Michelman & Robinson, LLP congratulate Sanford on this most recent honor, the meaningful impact he’s had upon the legal industry, the remarkable successes he’s realized on behalf of his extraordinary clients, and his important contributions to the community.

The Los Angeles Business Journal has recognized Lara Shortz as one of the city’s most influential women attorneys. This is the third time she’s earned this designation from the LABJ.

As Firm Recruiting Partner at Michelman & Robinson, Lara has been integral to the expansion of M&R into Texas—this year, she helped to open branches in Dallas and Houston—and the addition of several new lawyers across offices. In addition, she was a key member of the team that vaulted M&R into the upper echelon of associate compensation. All the while, Lara continues to build upon her extraordinary employment practice, representing some of the most admired companies in L.A.

Taken together, the LABJ saw to it that Lara be included in its 2022 Woman of Influence supplement. Along with the LABJ, M&R celebrates Lara and all she continues to achieve on behalf of the firm and our extraordinary clients.

For the fifth year running, Michael Poster has been named a Top Music Lawyer by Billboard. He’s featured in the magazine’s March 26 issue. Michael has again been honored by virtue of his extraordinary deal flow in the music space, especially the music publishing and master recording catalog acquisitions that he’s become known for.

In 2021 alone, Michael closed more than 20 catalog and music industry transactions. These included his representation of Pythagoras Music Fund in its acquisition of Soulshock & Karlin’s producer rights and music publishing catalog (Soulshock & Karin are a Danish record producer and songwriter team that has worked with artists including Brandy, Usher, Monica, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Craig David, Solange, JoJo and Sting). Michael also worked on behalf of Massarsky Consulting, a leading music economic analysis firm which has valued music assets worth over $6.5 billion, in its acquisition by Citrin Cooperman, a national accounting firm. Likewise, he handled numerous other acquisitions for firms including Catch Point Rights Partners, Vine Alternative Investments, Tempo Music Investments, Opus Music Group, Wise Music and Cutting Edge Group.

Extraordinary clients like these, along with financial institutions, entertainment-focused investment firms, and independent music companies such as City National Bank, Spirit Music Group, Downtown Music Group, Reviver Records, and ONErpm, continue to put their trust in Michael, who one client recently described him as “the most effective deal-maker in the music industry.” It doesn’t get much better than that.

Everyone here at Michelman & Robinson, LLP congratulates Michael on this latest recognition and for continuing to bridge the gap between the music industry and the world of corporate, private equity, finance and M&A transactions. Bravo!
